His research focuses on the political contexts in which non-state terrorism emerges, public perceptions of international security issues and the interaction of domestic and international politics of the Middle East and North Africa. Relevant publications include articles in Conflict Management and Peace Science, Democratization, Journal of Peace Research, Politics, Terrorism and Political Violence and West European Politics.
