Dirty Bosses In The Texas Department Of Criminal Justice: An Autoethnographic Study Of Staff-inmate Boundary Violations
Robert Worley Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, USARobert M. Worley, Ph.D., is a Professor of Criminal Justice at Lamar University. His research focuses on institutional corrections, correctional officer stress, job burnout, and staff-inmate boundary violations. He has published on the dynamics of inappropriate relationships between correctional officers and inmates and has served as an expert witness in civil litigation, contributing to plaintiff awards exceeding $2.5 million. More recently, his work has addressed the behaviors and offending patterns of female sex offenders. Dr. Worley was the inaugural recipient of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) Historical Mini-Grant, which he used to co-produce the documentary Editorial Excellence, a history of ACJS journals. He has served as Editor of ACJS Today (six years), ACJS Now (three years), and as Treasurer of the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice. His expertise has been cited by Reuters, The New York Times, The Dallas Morning News, and The Houston Chronicle.
