Morris-Francis a Department of Criminal Justice, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Edinburg, Texas, USAb Justice Studies Department, Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas, USAMarika Dawkins-Cavazos, serves as an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and the Associate Chair in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. Her research centers on crime and justice issues in the Caribbean, comparative juvenile justice, policing, race and ethnicity, and special populations. Her most recent coauthored publication on Texas Latinos’ perceptions of law enforcement and undocumented immigration in the U.S. is featured in the American Behavioral Scientist journal.Sherill V. C. Morris-Francis, is an Assistant Professor and Graduate Coordinator at Prairie View A&M University, where she teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research interests focus on Caribbean justice issues, intimate partner violence, youth justice, and other areas of criminal justice. She serves as the lead editor of “Youth Crime and Violence in the Caribbean” and “Crime and Violence in the Caribbean: Lessons from Jamaica” by Lexington Books. Additionally, she is actively involved in service at various levels.
