National and International Mass Shootings: Examining How Social Media Impacts College Students’ Perceptions
Jennifer LaRose Jose Torres a Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY, USAb Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USAJennifer LaRose is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Criminology, and Human Services at Hartwick College. She received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Louisiana State University. Her research examines mass communication, mass shootings, gun violence, and how the media frames mass shooting events.Jose Torres received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Virginia Tech. His research examines the areas of policing and marijuana, urban policing, community policing, policing and social control, police legitimacy, and race/ethnicity and policing. His work has appeared in American Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Police and Criminal Psychology, Police Practice and Research: An International Journal, Policing & Society, and Social Sciences.
