His recent work on these topics has appeared in Social Science Research and Journal of Drug Issues.Lobna El Tabei is a medical doctor, specializing in internal medicine and diabetology. She previously worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Pharmacology at the University of Cologne where her pharmacological interests included pharmacokinetics. Other research activities were related to general medicine on diagnostics of deep venous thrombosis. Results were published in the Deutsche Ärzteblatt.Uwe Fuhr is a professor of pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital at the University of Cologne. He is a physician by training and with a specialization in Clinical Pharmacology. His research interests are focused on optimizing individual drug treatment: he develops and applies methods to describe and quantify covariates for pharmacological processes contributing to desired and adverse drug reactions in the individual patient. Such covariates include the genetic background of drug transporters and drug metabolizing enzymes, renal function, body mass descriptors, and concomitant medication. His work has been published in more than 200 original and review articles.Guido Mehlkop is a professor of empirical research methods at the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Social Sciences at Erfurt University. His research interests include criminology, rational choice theory, methodology, and quantitative methods. He has written a monograph regarding the explanation of crime as a rational choice. His work has been published in journals including Criminology, Deviant Behavior, the Journal of Drug Issues, and Scientific Reports.
