Her doctoral thesis will aim to better our understanding of the sex work industry by analyzing how the characteristics of this ecosystem influence police investigations.Francis Fortin, Ph.D., is Associate Professor at the Université de Montréal and researcher at the International Centre for Comparative Criminology. His research focuses on cybercrime, criminal intelligence, data mining, and forensic analysis. He worked in the field of criminal investigation and intelligence for 12 years before beginning his academic career.Julien Chopin, Ph.D., is a senior researcher in criminology at the University of Lausanne. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Laval University and Simon Fraser University. His specialties lie in the application of statistical methods for understanding criminal phenomena and behaviors. Dr. Chopin has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in prominent journals, covering topics such as sexual offending, homicide, victimology, criminological theories, criminal justice systems, and intimate partner violence.Éric Chartrand, M. Sc., is a data mining analyst at the Office of Strategic Analysis and Development of the Sûreté du Québec. He has cumulated over 25 years of experience as a strategic analyst, a scientific advisor, and a data mining expert. His research interests include the prediction of violent crimes, police efficiency, as well as the allocation and strategic deployment of police resources.
