His work explores political radicalism on both the far-right and far-left, political violence, and terrorism, with a particular focus on the ideological evolution of European extremism. Nicola is the author of The Italian Far Right from 1945 to the Russia-Ukraine Conflict (Routledge), a comprehensive study tracing the far-right’s trajectory within shifting global contexts. His research employs multiple approaches—political science, history, and geopolitics—to analyze the development of transnational radical movements and their impacts. His upcoming work will be as editor of the Routledge Handbook of Italian Fascism and Neofascism. He received his PhD from the University of Turku.
