Her research centers on domestic violence and child maltreatment, bystander behavior, and gender.Leah Butler, Ph.D, is an assistant professor in the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. Her research centers on corrections, with an emphasis on the effects of racial attitudes on public opinion of correctional policy. She also conducts research in victimology, with a focus on intimate partner violence and sexual violence. Her recent work has been published in Criminology, Crime and Justice: A Review of Research, Crime & Delinquency, and Justice Quarterly.Dr. Brittany E. Hayes received her Ph.D. from John Jay College, City University of New York in 2014. Her research centers on the correlates, consequences, and responses to victimization. Her work also examines macro- and micro-level factors that influence behaviors and attitudes. Dr. Hayes has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Sociological Review, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Child Abuse & Neglect, and Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency. Her current funded work examines reporting barriers for victims with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as an evaluation of hospital-based violence intervention programs across Ohio.
