John Githigaro School of Humanities and Social Sciences, United States International University-Africa (USIU-A), Nairobi, KenyaJohn Githigaro, PhD, is an academic based in Nairobi and currently affiliated with the Mashariki Research and Policy Centre. He was previously a Lecturer in Peace and Conflict Studies at St. Paul’s University, Limuru, Kenya. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the United States International University (USIU-A), Nairobi, Kenya. In Autumn 2023, he was a visiting fellow at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO University) in Russia.His research and teaching interests are in the areas of peace, security, and development in the Eastern Africa and Sahel regions.
