She Who Must Not Be Scammed: Transphobes, Trolls, and Tricksters in Online Research
Sarah Donley Bri Turgeon Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL, USASarah Donley, is a Professor of Sociology at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Her teaching and research interests include gender, work and organizations, sexuality, death and dying, intersectionality, and research methodology. Her current research explores the emergence and professionalization of end-of-life doulas and how their role is reshaping both the practice and process of death and dying. She is the co-editor of Intersectional Experiences and Marginalized Voices: Research, Analysis, and Praxis (Routledge, 2024). Her recent work has appeared in Omega: Journal of Death and Dying, Deviant Behavior, and Sex Roles.Brianna Turgeon, is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Jacksonville State University. Her research focuses on the nexus of identity, discourse, and inequality examining how public discourse influences identity and inequality. Her two recent lines of work have focused on mothers on welfare and the Harry Potter Fandom.
