She received her PhD in criminology from the University of Florida in 2018. Her research broadly focuses on victimization, with a particular focus on gender and criminological theory. Much of her current work centers on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), with the aim of understanding the variability in the effects of ACEs and their intersection with other forms of disadvantage.Savannah L. Doherty is a PhD Student in the Department of Criminal Justice at Temple University. She earned her master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2025. Her research interests include victimization, juvenile justice, and life-course studies.Ter’Ricka F. Brundidge is a PhD student in the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. She received her master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2025. Her research seeks to uncover the factors that shape perceptions and experiences of victimization, with a specific focus on the intersections of gender-based violence, victim agency, and racial inequity.
