James Crawford Department of Criminal Justice, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Asheville, North Carolina, USAJames Crawford is the Department Chair and Criminal Justice faculty member at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. A former detention facility sergeant, he brings practical experience and academic expertise to his work and earned his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Behavioral Science from Nova Southeastern University. His research focuses on correctional reform, equity in the justice system, and experiential criminal justice education, including his dissertation on safety perceptions among formerly incarcerated transgender individuals.
