Aubri F. McDonald is an Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She earned her PhD in Criminology from the University of Illinois in Chicago and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her undergraduate degrees are in psychology and journalism from the University of Kansas. Her research investigates how race-based and gendered framing in media, social movements, and criminal trials influence decision-making and policy. She teaches courses on race, gender, and media in criminal justice contexts, and a course on gangs. Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning and community engagement.Antonio Chavez has been Superintendent of Jonathan Delagrave Youth Development and Care Center since 2020. Prior to taking on that role, he worked in adult corrections for 16 years, including six years as a sergeant and three years as lieutenant of the jail division of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin.
