Edgar Bomal-ong MapangdolDr. Edgar Bomal-ong Mapangdol is currently the chairperson of the Department of Criminology at the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College in Mountain Province, Philippines. He holds an academic rank of Associate Professor V. Aside from being a full-time faculty member in the college, he is a part time lecturer for review in Philippine Licensure Examination for Criminologists in various regions of the country. Dr. Mapangdol is a registered criminologist who completed his Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Master of Science in Criminology and Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Criminology at the University of Baguio, Philippines. His dissertation is on Therapeutic Community as a Treatment Modality for Persons Deprived of Liberty at the Mountain Province District Jail which was eventually published in an international journal (Psychology and Education). Dr. Mapangdol is affiliated with various civic organizations, one of which is the leading criminology organization in the country such as Professional Criminology Association of the Philippines (PCAP). At present, he is the elected Press Relations Officer of the association (PCAP), Mountain Province Chapter. In addition, Dr. Mapangdol is actively involved in various community outreach in promoting: peace and order; crime and drug abuse prevention; welfare and development of persons deprived of liberty; and gender and development.
