His teaching and research explore issues relating to policing, punishment, and civilian oversight of police. His research has appeared in a variety of scholarly and policy-focused journals, including the Journal of Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Studies, Police Quarterly, Criminal Justice Policy Review, and Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management.Kristine Levan is an Associate Professor of Criminology. Her research and teaching interests focus on violent crime, media studies, and prison culture. Her work has appeared in various outlets, including Games & Culture, Journal of Prison Education & Reentry, and Journal of Criminal Justice & Popular Culture. She is the author of the text Prison Violence and the co-author of Crime, Punishment, and Video Games.Olivia Antone is a senior undergraduate student studying criminology at the University of Idaho. Her academic interests include comparative criminal justice systems, criminal law, and juvenile justice. She plans to attend law school in the fall of 2025.
