Christopher James Utecht Daniel Ortego a Criminal Justice Department, Grayslake, College of Lake County, IL, USAb Career and Job Placement, Grayslake, College of Lake County, IL, USAChristopher James Utecht is an associate professor and department chair in the Criminal Justice Department at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. His research interests include what works in criminal justice education, and the working lives of correctional officers. He is a regular presenter at regional and national conferences. Chris is a past Chair of the ACJS Community College Section and is that section’s current Secretary-Treasurer. He holds an M.S. degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati and an M.A. in sociology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Chris is a retired police officer from Wisconsin.Daniel Ortego is the Apprenticeship Manager at the College of Lake County. Mr. Ortego has over 20 years of experience in career and program development and has spent the past 6 years developing and managing the Apprenticeship Program at the College of Lake County. He has presented regionally and nationally on the topics of apprenticeship program development, and employer collaboration in the growth and success of apprenticeships. Mr. Ortego has a bachelor’s degree in education from Northeastern Illinois University and master’s degree in management from Cardinal Stritch University.
