Nachman Ben-YehudaThe Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, IsraelNachman Ben-Yehuda is Professor (emeritus) of Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He earned his PhD in Sociology at the University of Chicago. His teaching, research interests and publications center on the sociology of deviance, drug use, moral panics, war crimes, terror, betrayal and treason, misconduct in research, theocratic democracy, the Masada myth and recently on deviance and crime in Kubrick’s films. His work has been published in journals such as The American Journal of Sociology, the British Journal of Criminology, Deviant Behavior, Critical Criminology and by publishers like The University of Chicago Press, Oxford University Press, Michigan University Press, SUNY Press. His 2010 book Theocratic Democracy won the 2011 Distinguished Book Award from the Division of International Criminology of the American Society of Criminology and he was awarded the 2017 international award of the Law and Society Association.
