His research interests include what works in criminal justice education, and the working lives of correctional officers. He is a regular presenter at regional and national conferences. Chris is a past Chair of the ACJS Community College Section, and is the section’s current Secretary-Treasurer. He holds an M.S. degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati and an M.A. in sociology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Chris is a retired police officer from Wisconsin.Christopher David Zaleski, JD, is an Assistant Professor and leads The Chicago School’s BA Criminology and BS Criminal Justice programs and serves as Director of General Education. A former law enforcement officer and community corrections leader, he brings over 25 years of criminal justice experience and a decade in higher education. His work emphasizes equity-minded, community-engaged learning and restorative justice.
