Her research focuses on the courts-to-corrections pipeline, particularly the relationship between military service and criminal justice contact, specialty courts, and diversion programs. Her work has appeared in Crime & Delinquency, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, Corrections: Policy, Practice, and Research, and The Journal of Drug Issues.Jennifer H. Peck, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida. Her research interests surround racial/ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system and the treatment of vulnerable populations in criminal justice settings. Her most recent research appears in Justice Quarterly, Crime & Delinquency, and the Journal of Criminal Justice.Adrianna Ruiz, BA, is a Graduate Student in the International Criminal Justice Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Political Science, with a minor in Sociology, from the University of Florida. Her research interests include comparative criminal justice systems, incarceration experiences, and transnational organized crime, with particular emphasis on migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
