Atin Basuchoudhary Günther G. Schulze a Department of Economics and Business, Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia, USAb Institute of Economics, University of Freiburg and CESifo, Freiburg im Breisgau, GermanyAtin Basuchoudhary is the Roberts Professor of Free Enterprise Economics at the Virginia Military Institute. Apart from being recognized as a exemplary teacher he has published multiple journal articles and books in prestigious scholarly outlets. His interests are eclectic but center around the role of information asymmetry. These include thinking about innovation, AI, causal algorithms, civil conflict and terrorism, biological processes and medicine, and ethical reasoning systems. Apart from his academic work Professor Basuchoudhary is a member of several for profit and non-profit boards that try to make the world a better place. In addition to his students, he has two children who inspire him to lead by serving.Günther G. Schulze is Professor of Economics and director of the Department of International Economic Policy at the University of Freiburg/ Germany. He has published five books with leading publishers, 50 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters. His research focusses on topics of development economics, political economy, and the economics of terrorism. Together with Atin Basu he is editing the Handbook on the Economics of Terrorism forthcoming 2025.
